Medication Adherence Trainer (MAT)

Applying cognitive theories based on multisensory learning and positive framing  offer the opportunity to addressing several barriers to medication adherence among youth. MAT is a visual device that shows how medication works in the body and the importance of adherence using a concrete, simple, and salient demonstration. Specifically, MAT is an interactive demonstration that stimulates multisensory learning by allowing youth to listen to the information about their medication, while looking at a visual demonstration of how it works in their body, and interacting with their healthcare provider by practicing medication adherence during the demonstration.
